The
Reverend Doctor William V. Guy was elected pastor following
the passing of Dr. Williams. As pastor, Rev. Guy has endeared
himself in the hearts of the congregation through his sincere
dedication. Under his leadership the membership worked unceasingly
and unselfishly sacrificed to refurbish the existing edifice and
to build a new addition to the glory of God. The refurbished
sanctuary, administrative, fellowship and educational facilities
have strengthened ties among the membership and are a tribute to
the faithful leadership of Rev. Guy. The congregation has numerous
boards and auxiliaries in which many members are actively
involved. The church has a wide mission outreach ministry, a
growing Sunday School and an outstanding Music Department. Over
the years of his pastorate, Dr. Guy has served on numerous boards
and civic committees in metropolitan Atlanta and on national
boards of the American Baptist Churches, USA. Until recently he
was a Professor of Religion at Morehouse College. He frequently
serves as speaker to diverse civic, educational, and religious
groups.
